Nanaimo Clippers forward Joe Perry earned the bonus point for his team on Friday evening, scoring just over a minute into double overtime to lift the Clippers past the Alberni Valley Bulldogs by a 4-3 score.

Nanaimo opened the scoring at the 8:24 mark of the first period when Luc Olivier Blain converted a Victor Newell feed to score on the power play. The Bulldogs tied the game on a man advantage of their own minutes later when Sam Mitchell scored his first of two on the night, but the Clippers re-took the lead 48 seconds later on a Cody Bremner tally.

Mitchell scored his second of the game midway through the middle frame to tie the game, setting up a third in which Matt Hatch and Nicholas McIntyre traded goals. Ultimately, Perry ended the game in double overtime.

Loic Boivin stopped 41 shots in goal for the Clippers and picked up the win, while Frank Slubowski faced 29 shots in the loss.

The Nanaimo Clippers now return home to face the Westside Warriors on Saturday evening, while the Bulldogs travel to Cowichan Valley for an encounter with the Capitals.
