A trio of second period goals all involving linemates Connor and Kellen Jones and Cory Kane sunk the Langley Chiefs on Saturday, as the Vernon Vipers skated to a 19th consecutive victory with a 6-2 decision on the road.

Kellen Jones opened the scoring on a first period power-play and Vernon maintained the lead after 20 minutes with Mac Roy and Cody Ikkala trading goals late in the frame. The Jones-Jones-Kane line then exploded in the second period, scoring three even strength goals. Connor Jones, with a pair, and Kane, with a single, took care of the scoring while Kellen Jones picked up three assists.

Mike Collins closed out the scoring for the visitors early in the third period off a Braden Pimm feed, while Mac Roy scored his second as late consolation for the Chiefs.

Blake Voth made 23 saves to keep his perfect BCHL record intact, while Andrew Walsh allowed six goals on 40 shots in the loss.

Vernon wraps their three-game Coastal road trip in Burnaby on Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs, meanwhile, continue their six-game homestand on Friday evening against the Nanaimo Clippers.
