Vipers lead the way in CJHL's Preseason Rankings

The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced today its Pre-Season Top 15 rankings for the 2009-2010 season. Last year’s final rankings and the leagues in which the teams belong to are in parenthesis.

The CJHL Pre-Season Top 15 as of Tuesday, September 8th:

2. (2) Humboldt Broncos (SJHL)
3. (8) Grand Prairie Storm (AJHL)
4. (1) Spruce Grove Saints (AJHL)
5. (3) Winnipeg Saints (MJHL)
6. (9) Pembroke Lumber Kings (CJHL)
7. (NR) Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL)
8. (NR) Kingston Voyageurs (OJHL)
9. (5) Couchiching Terriers (OJHL)
10. (10) Brooks Bandits (AJHL)
11. (6) Georgetown Raiders (OJHL)
12. (NR) Truro Bearcats (MJAHL)
13. (14) North Bay Skyhawks (NOJHL)

Honorable mention goes to the Penticton Vees (BCHL), Weyburn Red Wings (SJHL), Portage Terriers (MJHL), Dauphin Kings (MJHL), Oakville Blades (OJHL), Lindsay Muskies (OJHL), and the Wellington Dukes (OJHL).

The pre-season rankings are based upon a variety of factors which includes the league in which the teams belong to, last season’s results in regular season and playoffs as well as initial recruiting efforts for the upcoming season.
